ALEX Stanley was sent off as Yate suffered their second heavy defeat in five days at Oxford City.
The result means that the Bluebells still haven’t won this year and are now six points adrift of safety in the Southern League Premier relegation zone.
The hosts went in front when Edd Vahid was dispossessed by James Faulkner, who set up Alex Fisher to round Lee Matthews and score.
Oxford were awarded a penalty two minutes later and Stanley was shown the red card as he was adjudged to have handled the ball on the line. Darren Pond’s spot kick was saved by Matthews but had to be retaken after the keeper advanced off his line too early and this time Pond scored.
It was 3-0 when Fisher hooked the ball back for Andy Gunn to score on 53 minutes.
Joe White had Yate’s best chance but he blazed over the bar when well placed after Jason Wood’s cross.
After 65 minutes Oxford made sure of the victory when Michael Lyon gave Faulkner a tap-in.
