YATE TOWN are on the brink of signing three new players as Dave Mogg’s rebuilding job gets into full swing.

However, the Gazette understands that last season’s leading goalscorer Dean Griffiths is on the brink of completing his move to Southern League Premier Division side Tiverton Town.

As he is over the age of 24, Yate are not entitled to a fee for the striker, who has rejected terms, although they will receive a fee for captain Scott Brice, who is also expected to move on.

However, Jake Reid has told Mogg he wants to stay at Lodge Road next season.

Boss Mogg has been in talks with a defender, a midfielder and a striker this week and hopes to complete their signatures soon.

According to Mogg, the striker has scored approximately 110 goals in 180 matches at Toolstation Western Premier League level, while the defender has played at Southern League Premier level.

Yate are still waiting to hear what division they will be playing in next season after their relegation.

Due to the number of Appeal Hearings still to be heard, which could affect the placement of clubs, the League Constitutions for next season are not being released by the FA until today or tomorrow at the earliest.

Unless Yate are reprieved from the drop, they are most likely to be playing in Southern League Division West next season.

Meanwhile, Yate have agreed friendlies with Bath City and Shortwood United ahead of the 2009/10 season. Dates are set to be confirmed.

Who would you like to see Yate sign? Have your say below.
