YATE TOWN striker Mark Reynolds netted an equaliser before being controversially sent off at Lodge Road on Saturday.
After Zayne Simpson had hit the post with an early chance, Andover took the lead midway through the first half when a deep cross from the right found Sean Cook unmarked at the far post.
Reynolds headed over when well placed, but then made amends on the stroke of half time when he headed home Simpson's free kick.
In the second period, Yate were gradually gaining control until Reynolds was stunned to be shown a straight red card by referee Adam Nunn for an alleged punch on 67 minutes.
Andover came more into the match but although both sides created several half chances, neither could find the winner.
Yate face home ties against Paulton Rovers in the first round of the League Cup on Tuesday and Hungerford Town in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy on Saturday.
