DESPITE the atrocious weather conditions, this local derby lived up to its expectations with a feast of goals.

With early play fairly even, Cam opened the scoring when Michelle Purse weaved her way through a maze of stranded Dursley defenders to coolly slot home.

Shortly afterwards Charlie Stickland showed great maturity for her tender age to flick home with the outside of her left boot from six yards.

With half-time approaching, Cam failed to capitalise on further chances, which allowed the opposition still to be in the game. Early in the second half Cam looked to have put the game beyond reach when Emma Pallister showed great vision to slot home from 20 yards. This seemed to sting Dursley into action and they quickly had Cam on the back foot for a short spell and they pulled a goal back.

Almost immediately Cam responded when Michelle Purse scored a cracking goal from 30 yards to leave Dursley stunned. Dursley found themselves down to nine players through injury but pulled another goal back as Cam failed to adjust to this situation. Without doubt the best goal of the game was saved until last as Reanne Vines cut in from the right wing to power a goal from an acute angle into the far corner of the net. Both sides played the game in a sporting manner and it was well refereed by Darren McMillan.
