WOTTON suffered a close fought defeat on Saturday away to Cheltenham 3rds.
Abi Ellis and Sharron Bates worked hard in midfield from the start, constantly recycling the ball and pushing up in to the attacking D.
Despite many shots on goal from both the forwards and the midfield players, the Cheltenham defence remained solid and no goals were scored.
Cheltenham also had their share attacking play. Charlie Waite, in goal, saved a good number of direct shots, including one from a two-on-one attack during a quick break out of Cheltenham’s defensive lines.
Cheltenham managed to put a shot in goal during the first half, which secured their win.
Player of the match: Lianne Hoyle.
Wotton face Ross-on-Wye on Saturday, 10.30am pushback, at Castle School, Thornbury.
