YATE TOWN suffered their second consecutive defeat at second-placed AFC Totton last night.

Mike Gosney gave the home side the lead on 11 minutes after being set up by Nathaniel Sherborne and then rifled in a free kick from the edge of the box to double the advantage eight minutes later.

Yate saw a Sam Duggan free-kick tipped over the crossbar by goalkeeper Gareth Barfoot before Russ Church had a header cleared off the line in the second half.

Marc Hughes shot wide and Edd Vahid had an effort was well saved by Barfoot before Jamie Whiskin headed in Totton’s third from a corner after 73 minutes.
