SHARPNESS deservedly beat Broadwell in an excellent match at the Power Station on Saturday.
However, it came at a price, as the 24-year-old midfielder Craig Freeman suffered a broken leg in the 24th minute of the match.
Freeman, who has been a regular first team player of late, was just beginning to show his skills at senior level.
A Sharpness spokesman said: “It is a great shame for both the player and club.”
The game was played at a very fast pace.
James Higgs hit the post early on and the Sharks were always the more likely to score.
The only goal of the game came in the 49th minute. An excellent ball from Ricky Walker found Ryan Collard in space on the right wing.
The 16-year-old put over a superb cross and centre half Bradley Thomas, coming from nowhere, put in a bullet header to give the keeper no chance.
Both teams went close and Price should have done better with five minutes to go for the away side but Nick Grove in the home goal stood firm and the opportunity was lost.
This is the 12th time the Sharks have made the final and they hold the record of winning the competition on seven occasions.
