DURSLEY TOWN had only themselves to blame for not taking maximum points after twice surrendering the lead against Gala Wilton at the Rec.
Frustrated Dursley manager Chris Dolbear said: “We have to start showing more composure when we go into the lead. That’s six league games we have drawn now and we should have won all six.”
Martin Booth’s drive was deflected onto the crossbar by Gala goalkeeper Ashley Fowles, while Maz Meta and Antony Nash also had efforts held.
The breakthrough eventually came five minutes before half-time when Meta swept a corner home at the far post.
Town then had chances to extend their lead but Fowles saved well from Jer Coburn either side of the interval and Nash blazed wide when played in by Will Steel.
However, Gala were gifted an equaliser midway through the second half when Mark Mason hit a low drive from 25 yards and the sprawling Keith Watson failed to get any part of his anatomy behind it.
Dursley substitute Paul Street put his side back into the lead with a cool finish from Nash’s measured through ball.
But as so often this season, Town then retreated into their shells and were pegged back almost immediately.
Coburn was penalised right on the edge of the box as Dursley struggled to clear a corner and Danny Irvine curled a delightful free-kick over the wall and in-off the post.
Dursley: K Watson, J Frampton, S Bennett, P Miles, C Lindsay, A Nash, J Coburn, M Booth (P Street 70), S Miles (L Morrissey 70), W Steel, M Meta.
Goals: Meta (40), Street (75).
l Town are away to Shortwood United Reserves on Saturday (3pm).
