Rockhampton looked as if they would set a huge target but Hardwicke managed to break the 130-run partnership when Hill fell.

The tables turned with the accurate Chapel (9-1-7-32) and Hutchins (12-0-3-42) cleaning up the rest.

The home side set about their task in determined style with Rouse (16) scoring freely, until Webb (8-0-2-29) picked up both openers.

Chapel (44) then picked up the charge as Hardwicke stayed in touch with the rate until captain Tom Cullimore (9-1-3-40) once again partnered by Matt Wright (7-0-4-24) put the squeeze on the opposition.

Table topping Rockhampton eventually claimed victory and look to have found their feet in their first season following promotion.
