ALMONDSBURY TOWN pulled off their best victory in their short Southern League history as they hit four goals away from home to end Frome’s 15-game unbeaten run.
The home side had taken an incredible 43 points from the previous 45 available and would have overtaken Sholing at the summit with a win, but they were stunned by Richard Thompson’s side, who hit all their goals in 20 second half minutes after going behind.
Matthews Peters scored for Frome on 29 minutes before Adam Mahdi levelled terms five minutes after the break.
Dean Griffiths put Almondsbury in the lead on 55 minutes, Mahdi completed his brace on the hour mark and Ross Stearn scored their fourth ten minutes later.
Almondsbury remain sixth in the table but are only outside the play-offs on goal difference from Paulton Rovers and Mangotsfield United.
Thompson’s men are at home to Bideford on Saturday.
