Representing Blue Coat School, Jack Reeves secured a bronze medal at the British Schools National Judo Competition at Sheffield.
Despite being able to do only limited training for the last six weeks due to a torn ligament in his arm, the ten-year-old from Wotton-under-Edge fought his way through a group of 28 Year 6 and 7 pupils from across the country to secure himself a medal.
He won his last fight with a massive ippon in less than ten seconds to secure the bronze.
This is his second British medal in the last six months as he won silver at the British Championships at Crystal Palace last autumn.
Reeves will take on the West of England on May 8 in Kingsbridge and then travel to Toulouse in France for his first International Judo Competition at the beginning of June.
