FOREST Green chairman Dale Vince insists reported interest from Millwall in defender Eddie Oshodi is untrue.

The former Watford starlet has been in outstanding form alongside Jamie Turley at the heart of the Forest Green defence and a raft of league scouts are believed to be tracking the 20-year-old.

However, Vince is adamant that no approaches have been made for Oshodi from the Championship outfit.

Vince said: “Eddie is just one of several FGR players that have the attention of League club scouts. It’s quite normal.

“No approaches or expressions of interest have been received for any of our players – I think Sky were having a quiet news day and built this up to be something it’s not.”

Elsewhere, Curtis McDonald’s long spell with Forest Green looks to be over.

The versatile Welshman has been loaned to Southern Premier League Brackley Town.

The 24-year-old looks set to exit the New Lawn along with Charlie Griffin, Jeffrey Imudia, Callum Henry and Chris Allen.

Forest Green face Darlington in their last home game of the Blue Square Premier campaign on Saturday (3pm) and Reece Styche is raring to go as Rovers aim for a top ten finish, or even better.

The 22-year-old England C international has scored twice in three games on his return from an almost season long knee problem.

“We’re pushing forward and we want to be the best team in the league,” said Styche.

“There are so many quality players with young lads like Chris Stokes, Eddie Oshodi, Keiron Forbes and many others, which if we can keep together for the next two years could be massive.

“We go in to games with no fear and our results against the big teams prove that because we have such a good understanding.”

And Styche, who celebrated the birth of his first baby Carter Rui with partner Paige recently, believes the supporters can help Forest Green’s drive for success. He said: “When the fans get behind us they give you a huge lift and I know it’s an old cliché but it’s like having an extra man.

“When they are cheering your name you want to give them something to cheer and as a club we will get bigger because of the fans.”

The family feeling at Forest Green will reach out to Saturday’s visitors Darlington, who have struggled both on and off the pitch this season with perilous financial problems.

There will be a bucket collection at the game, hoping to raise funds for the Save Darlington FC Group as they attempt to secure Darlington’s future.

* FORMER Premier League stars Gary Neville and David Ginola are set to play in a Gary Neville Allstar XI to take on Forest Green in early August.

Chairman Dale Vince is a friend of the international duo and former Spurs and French star Ginola was a guest of Vince’s for the match against York City last November.

Ex- Manchester United legend Neville co-founded the Sustainability in Sport initiative with Vince after the Ecotricity boss sponsored and powered Neville’s testimonial against Juventus at Old Trafford last year.
