CAM under-11 Girls have been crowned South West champions.
They travelled to Sidmouth in Devon to represent Gloucestershire in  the South  West Pairs Cricket Finals.
Having previously  won the county round earlier in the season, Cam were feeling confident and excited at the prospect of playing against other county champions  from Oxfordshire, Devon and Cornwall with the top two teams playing a final.
in the first game, Cam played Charlbury, who  added  52 runs to their 200 start for the loss of only two wickets, taken by the accurate bowling of Maya Hart and Chloe Dolbear.
Cam made only 228 for the loss of five wickets to lose by 24 runs.
By the second game against Calstoke Cam knew what was required and this time they batted first.
Hart and Dolbear put on a total of 34 runs and Lauren Ealey and Caitlin Beard added another 26 runs, losing one wicket.
Isabel Carey and Lauren Small also added 26 runs and although Abbie Bates and Lauren Jones lost one wicket they gained 22 runs, making a massive total of 312.
The Cornish champions made 240 with seven wickets gained by Cam to wrap up a victory by 72 runs.
In Cam’s last game in the group stage against Tarka  they showed confidence in their batting, scoring 285 in total with the loss of only two wickets.
Hart bowled superbly, taking two wickets, with Beard securing a lunging catch for one of them.
Courtney Cairns produced a tidy over to secure the game as Tarka finished on 272-3.
Cam were given a re-match against Charlbury in the final.
Dolbear produced her best bowling of the day, which included a maiden, a wicket and only nine runs scored from her three overs.
Jones (2) and Bates also took wickets as Charlbury finished with 226 runs on the board.
Opening batters Dolbear and Hart couldn’t have given Cam a better start, scoring 37 runs in their three overs.
The Cam girls continued steadily through their innings, notching up the runs but also losing wickets.
The Charlbury girls continued to bowl well, taking three wickets in the last two overs.
At the final count Cam had scored 245 to secure their win by 19 runs.
