SEVERNVALE enjoyed great success in the prestigious Avon Restricted tournament.
In the mixed doubles unseeded brother and sister Henly and Kirby Ngan took home the trophy after overcoming the second seeds in the final.
The men’s doubles also saw the unseeded pairing of Severnvale’s Andy Craig of the and Caleb Walker triumphing over the favourites and top seeds to bring home silverware in an exciting best of three games.
Henly Ngan added to his haul of silver by capturing the men’s singles trophy again in an exciting final between the number three and four seeds.
Now in their 41st year, Severnvale have also enjoyed a strong start to their league season, helped by the arrival of several new top class men.
However, the club could benefit from strengthening the ladies side following the retirement of several top players over the last two seasons.
Anyone interested in joining a strong, competitive and very social club who has experience at a reasonable level of league play, would be welcomed. Club nights are every Wednesday (7-10pm) and Friday (8-10pm) evenings at Thornbury Leisure Centre.
