BEN MORGAN is struggling to be fit for England’s Six Nations clash in Ireland this Sunday.

The Gloucester No 8, who grew up in Kingswood, made several barnstorming runs in the 38-18 opening day victory against Scotland before an ankle injury forced him off in the 46th minute.

He has remained with the squad for treatment and has not yet been officially ruled out, but Thomas Waldrom and former Thornbury Broncos youth player Billy Vunipola have been put on standby after seven players were released back to their clubs.

Head coach Stuart Lancaster is set to announce his 23-man matchday squad on Friday morning.
