FOREST Green have appointed Michelle McDonald as the new club secretary and head of matchday operations.

After 14 years at Bristol City, Michelle arrives with vast experience in football administration at club secretary level.

Prior to City she spent more than 10 years at Swindon Town when David Hockaday was still a player at the club and also had a stint at Wimbledon FC.

She takes over from interim club secretary Tom Cowling and will assume the matchday duties of general manager Trevor Saunders who maintains his position on the Forest Green board of directors.

Chairman Dale Vince said: “On behalf of FGR I’m delighted to welcome Michelle to the club.

“Michelle’s vast experience and technical knowledge of football administration is a great asset to the club.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Tom for taking on the extra workload this season as he returns to his primary role as head of legal at Ecotricity Group.”

McDonald said: “It is a really exciting time to be getting involved with Forest Green Rovers.

“I look forward to working with the chairman, the board of directors, David Hockaday, club staff and, of course, the players – as we aim to achieve success for Forest Green both on and off the field.”
