Dursley RFC to play Cainscross as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations

AS PART of Dursley’s 60th Anniversary celebrations, the seniors will be playing a game against first opponents Cainscross on Saturday, September 14.
This will be the first of four main events during the season, and will be to celebrate the first game played by the present club which was against Cainscross seconds on the exact same date in 1953.
The club was reformed in the summer of 1953 and played their first match in September of that year.
The coming season is also the 20th Anniversary of the re-establishment of the mini and youth section in September 1993.
On the same day, the first team will play their Gloucester Premier League game against Tewkesbury at around 2pm.
A mixed Dursley second and third team will then play against Cainscross at around 3.30pm.
A barbecue will be running and the bar will be open.
Representatives of the GRFU and all the local clubs have also been invited to join the celebrations.
