DAN Robson has vowed to return Gloucester to winning ways in the Aviva Premiership after a morale-sapping defeat in Europe.

Edinburgh were the surprise 16-10 victors at Kingsholm on Sunday, a result that dented Gloucester's hopes of progressing from Pool 6 in the Heineken Cup.

It leaves them five points behind leaders Munster with the Irish outfit travelling to the West Country in January for a make-or-break clash.

Before that, however, comes an equally decisive battle at the foot of the Aviva Premiership table with winless Worcester Warriors on Sunday.

And scrum-half Robson, whose side have won just twice in the Premiership this season, is eager to repay the fans who suffered at the weekend.

"It's been a tough week," said Robson. "Obviously it's been difficult after the loss at the weekend and we're fully focussed on bettering our performance and result in front of our own fans against Worcester this weekend.

"It's frustrating and now we have a lot of work to do to, but we're still confident in our abilities.

"We were gutted to be fair, we went to Edinburgh the week before and got a good result, so it was a bit of a backward step.

"We targeted that home game against Edinburgh as one we could potentially win, so it was hugely disappointing and we are sorry for the fans."

Robson started both European ties against Edinburgh from the bench and is understandably keen to make a return to the starting line-up against Warriors.

The 21-year-old played the full 80 minutes against Leicester Tigers the last time the Cherry & Whites were in league action and he admits he's starting to find his feet in Nigel Davies' side.

But he is more concerned about the team's performance and returning that winning feeling both at home and abroad.

"We've got to go into our two remaining Heineken Cup games and take as many points away from them as possible," added Robson.

"We've got Munster coming here which we are really looking forward to, if we can take some points from them that could be a turning point perhaps.

"It could also be a bit of a turning point in the Premiership if we could beat Worcester, it's a big game for both sides given the starts to the season we've both had."
