Old Richians U14s 5 Dursley U14s 5

IN THE fifth and final round of the county cup group games, Dursley made a trip to Gloucester to take on a strong Old Richians side.

Dursley chose to play the first half with the wind at their backs but it was Old Richians who spent the whole half inside Dursley territory with repeated assaults through their forwards, only to be stopped at the line by the stubborn Dursley defence.

With no score at half-time, Dursley looked to move the ball in the second half but the final pass seemed to let them down time and again.

Richians continued to batter Dursley and finally with ten minutes remaining Dursley fumbled a lineout catch five metres out and Richians pounced on the ball over the line.

It looked to be all over until the last play when Dursley were awarded a penalty and quickly spread the ball to winger Robert Dakin from inside their 22 and he out-sprinted the Richian tacklers to score in the corner for the draw.

Dursley now must wait the results from many rescheduled games in their pool to see if they go through to the cup or plate round quarter-finals with a record of three wins, one draw and one loss.
