Teenage goalkeeper Paul White has penned a one-year contract extention at Forest Green.

The 19-year-old Irishman joined Rovers last summer, with former Hartlepool stopper Adam McHugh, to provide cover for first-choice keeper Sam Russell and his understudy Matt Bulman.

With White’s deal set to end, boss Pennock offered the Republic of Ireland- born youngster fresh terms after boss Ady Pennock released fellow stopper McHugh this week.

A pleased White tweeted: “Delighted to have put pen to paper on a new contract for another season.”

He was loaned out to Southern League South & West Division side North Leigh in September and played half the season for the Oxfordshire outfit before returning to the New Lawn to allow McHugh to finish the season at the high-flying Southern League side.

Following the departure of regular number two Bulman, White claimed the back-up keeper role behind Russell.

White has previously featured for League of Ireland side Cork City.

He has international experience having previously lined up for the Republic of Ireland Under-18s.
