Kingswood Village (254-3 dec) beat Selsley & Rodborough (113) by 141 runs

TWO fine knocks and good all-round bowling gave Kingswood a hefty win against visitors Selsley and Rodborough.

Kingswood's run-a-ball opening partnership set the tone.

Until Kevin Morgan retired with a shoulder injury for 83 at 176 in the 30th over, there had been little encouragement for Selsley's bowlers.

Morgan's partner, Ben Foxwell, shrugged off ill health for a fine 111, falling eventually to Jack Hicks, as had Richard Wilding first ball.

Coming round the wicket, Paul Ind trapped Vince Taylor lbw for a brisk 16.

Even the enthusiasm of Kingswood's 14-year-old Harry Green, on loan to the visitors, could not rejuvenate Selsley's flagging attack as Rob Austen's belligerent 37 not out off 22 balls took Kingswood to 254-3 declared.

Apart from Ind's 39 and Hicks' 13, Selsey's innings had no other double figure scores.

Twelve-year-old debutant, Robbie Foxwell, set the pattern with the dismissal of his former primary school teacher, Paul Winder, finishing with 2-28 in his first spell in adult cricket.

Steve Moran (1-41), Richard Wilding (2-17), Iain Green (2-2) and Rory Thomas (3-8) reduced the visitors to 113 all out.
