Bristol U18 Football Combination North Division
Kingswood AFC 7 Winterbourne Utd 2
IN A fitting end to many long and distinguished youth football careers, Kingswood cemented their season-long position at the top of the table by winning their final game to take the title.
Fired-up and full of anticipation, the Kings came straight out on the offensive and four minutes in Matt Gosling chipped one over the keeper to get the first goal.
Fifteen minutes in Matt Gosling got the second, finishing a Connor Davis cross from the left.
With 15 minutes of the half still to go and still not able to relax, Kingswood's Ed Fuller, Edd Pitt and Archie Bennett all had a go on goal. Tom Cullum followed with his head and then Ed Fuller again but it was Cullum who finally headed in the third.
Jordan Sims then scored with what must count as one of the strikes of the season –– shooting from a long way out over stunned players from both sides into the top of the net.
On 60 minutes Gosling was fed a chance by Toby Champion and he confidently completed his hat-trick.
The visitors finally got their moment on 70 minutes with a quality goal from Nathan Redmore.
In the 80th minute, Archie Bennett got the Kings' sixth from a long and fluent run.
James Gilvear had ago at getting on the scoresheet but Bennett took the rebound and put away the Kings' seventh.
With just a few minutes to go Winterbourne's Kieran Smith retrieved the ball and ran into the deserted home half to out-pace Ben Hemmings and place the ball comfortably in the net for their second goal of the game.
MOM: Jordan Sims.
