Cam Ladies (139-2) beat Bath Ladies (94-5) by 45 runs

CAM took a break from league fixtures and entertained Bath Ladies at Stinchcombe in a 30-over friendly.

Bath won the toss and put Cam in to bat.

Openers Lucy Johnstone and Charlie Pretty started confidently and they put on 47 before the former was bowled for 28.

Becky Woodward joined Pretty and she was out lbw for 18.

Pretty reached her 50 in style and decided to retire.

Vicky Mansell (12*) and Nicola Dickson (9) saw the overs through.

Bath had 139 to defend but lost their first wicket with only two on the board, Kiara Ford taking a catch from Mansell (5-1-13-1).

Cam’s bowling was tight and Bath were finding runs hard to come by, losing their second wicket on 26 with Pretty taking a catch from Jazz Gillingham (4-1-5-1).

Cam continued to bowl and field tight, Mansell taking a catch off Pretty (4-0-11-1) and Ellen Grey taking two wickets.

Bath ran out of overs and finished on 94.

Youngsters Gillingham and Ford made a confident step into the ladies cricket.
