DURSLEY under-14s won the Plate at the end of season Cirencester 7s Tournament.

They were drawn in a tough pool against county cup quarter-finalists Cirencester, and runners-up Old Pats.

Cirencester beat Dursley in the first match 24-12 with Jack Davis and Jay Christopher scoring the Dursley tries.

Durlsey then upset Old Pats 17-10 to reach the semi-finals of the cup competition through a hat-trick of tries from Frazer Holroyd.

In the semi-final Dursley took on the eventual winners of the whole completion Ledbury and narrowly lost 19-12. Holroyd scored both tries.

Dursley then faced Cheltenham in the Plate final and took an early lead through tries from Sam Powell and Josh Greehalgh with Powell converting one.

However, Cheltenham battled back and led at half-time 14-12.

In the second half Dursley scored through Jack Reeves and a conversion from Powell with a little over a minute left to go.

Once again Cheltenham battled to cross the line to level the game 19-19 at full time.

Dursley were declared winners on the golden try rule as they had scored first.
