Kingswood Village (176-8) lost to Sherston (177-6) by four wickets

A DEPLETED side from Sherston was just enough to squeeze victory at Kingswood.

At 14-3 with a quarter of the overs gone, Kingswood might have rued choosing to bat, but a 54-run partnership between Ben Foxwell (46) and Kev Morgan (50*) over the next quarter put Kingswood back in the game.

Four more wickets fell quickly until Morgan's 90-run stand with a free striking Rory Thomas (58) over the remaining half of the 36-over innings gave the hosts a useful 176-8.

A delightful cameo was 14-year-old Jacob Symanowski's first run in adult cricket of father Andy, loaned to the visitors.

Bowling honours went to Euan Kenny with 4-26.

Sherston's similar early loss of three wickets, all to Rory Thomas (3-23), suggested a tough chase but veteran Andy Jarvis (46) mauled the change bowlers before falling to Ben Foxwell.

Vince Taylor (2-38) removed Josh Langley (8) and had skipper Ian Gould (16) well held by 16-year-old Mike Barnes.

At 130-6 the game looked poised but a belligerent 87 from 45 balls by Euan Kenny rushed Sherston home with 7.3 overs to spare.
