BERKELEY Town and Yate Town Reserves have both been given a relegation reprieve by the Gloucestershire County League.

With Bristol Academy resigning from the league and champions Longlevens earning promotion to the Hellenic League, no teams have gone down.

Berkeley finished bottom of the table despite a late upturn in form, with Yate finishing just one point ahead of them.

As previously revealed by the Gazette, Cam Bulldogs’ application for promotion was turned down and their place in the league has been taken by Cheltenham Civil Service, whom they beat to the Northern Senior League Division One title last season, while AEK Boco have been promoted after finishing second in the Bristol Premier Combination.

David Wilson Homes have decided to withdraw their sponsorship deal with the league.

A County League statement said: "We would like to thank them for their support over the last three years.

"We are currently looking for a new sponsor to take the league forward."

If there are any companies who would like to sponsor the league from next season and into the future contact the league general secretary Ron Holpin.
