CAM Mills have reached the final of the County Fours competition, qualifying for the National Championships in the process.
In their semi-final played at Henleaze BC, the rink of Alan Norris, Dave Smith, Phil Beames and Russ Mellerup won four of the first five ends to take a 7-4 lead over the rink of Trevor Wheeler, Peter Jones, Steve Hunt and Keith Elliott (Bristol St Andrews).
Two twos and a single saw them extend their lead to five shots after ten ends and then with a run of three winning ends yielding four shots they moved into a 16-10 lead.
A couple more singles booked their place in the final with a 19-12 win.
The Cam Mills quartet will face last season’s beaten semi-finalists Nathan Kitchen, Nick Holliday, John Roach and Matt Cuthbert (Cheltenham), who won their last four clash against Sean Morris, Vince Wilks, Alan Brooker and Paul Morris (Gloucester City) 25-13.
The final will be held on Sunday, July 27 at Olveston and in August the National Championships take place at Leamington Spa.
