YATE Town could face a re-match against Cowes Sports when they get their FA Cup campaign underway on Saturday, August 30.

Rob Cousins’ side have been drawn away in the preliminary round to Team Solent or Cowes, who gave Yate a scare when they went 1-0 up at Lodge Road in a tie at the same stage last year before second half goals by Ross Staley and Lewis Haldane secured a 2-1 win.

Yate went on to record shock wins over Chippenham Town and Bideford last season before being knocked out by Gloucester City in a replay.

If the Bluebells progress, they will be at home to Dorchester Town, relegated from Skrill South last season, in the first qualifying round on Saturday, September 13.

Yate have been given a home tie against Southern League Division One South and West rivals North Leigh in the FA Trophy preliminary round on Saturday, October 18 with £2,500 up for grabs for the winners.

Hallen and Almondsbury UWE could meet each other in the FA Cup first qualifying round but both would have to win two difficult away games to get to that far.

Western League Premier Division side Hallen visit Wessex League Premier Division side Whitchurch in the extra preliminary round on Saturday, August 16 and if they win they will be away to Swindon Supermarine, who knocked them out two years ago.

Almondsbury UWE have been handed an even tougher draw as they will travel to higher league opposition in the shape of Gillingham Town in the extra preliminary round with the winners then facing a trip to AFC Totton, who were relegated from the Southern League Premier Division last season.

Winterbourne United also enter at the extra preliminary pound stage and will be at home to Wessex League Division One side Hythe and Dibden, with a trip to either Newport Isle of Wight or Hamworthy United lying in wait.

The winners of that tie would then be away to Cinderford Town, Corsham or Horndean.

Slimbridge have been drawn at home to Thatcham Town, who resigned from the Southern League last season.

If Leon Sterling’s side progress they will face Chalfont St Peter at Wisloe Road a fortnight later, with a home game against Southern League Premier Division side Hungerford United the reward for the winners.

The prize money in the Extra Preliminary Round is £1,500, with £1,925 up for grabs in the Preliminary Round and £3,000 in the first qualifying round.

The first and second qualifying round draws of the FA Vase have also been made, where the prize money is £600 and £800 respectively.

Almondsbury UWE will begin with a home game this time against Whitchurch on Saturday, September 6 and would travel to Chippenham Park on Saturday, October 4 if they get through.

Winterbourne face Hamworthy, which could be their second trip to the Wessex League Premier Division side in the same number of weeks, with the winners away to Portchester or Bitton in the next round.

Slimbridge have once again been given home advantage and will face former Hellenic Premier Division rivals Kidlington in the first qualifying round with Oxford City Nomads the opponents for the team going through.
