THREE students from South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College's Athletics Academy have been selected for the English Schools National Athletics Championships.
Cam-based runner Hattie Dent, who is a member of Yate and District AC, and Melissa Roberts were selected from their performances at the South West Schools Athletics Championships held in Yeovil.
Roberts won silver in the 200 metres in a time of 25.33 and Hattie won bronze in the 400 metre hurdles in a time of 65.5.
Katie-Jane Priest was selected for her performance at the England Athletics Under-20s Championships in Bedford with a time of 25.56 in the 200 metres.
All three sports students are now preparing to head to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham for the English Schools National Track and Field Championships to represent Avon Schools this weekend.
Dent has been selected for the 400 metre hurdles, Priest will compete in the 100 metres and Roberts will compete in the 400 metres.
Head Athletics coach Richard Gwyn said: "It is great achievement to have three SGS Athletics Academy students competing at the English Schools National Track and Field Championships. The opportunity to compete at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham will be inspiring."
