DURSLEY'S Club Championship was played in what can only be described as appalling conditions for the first four or five holes as the predicted rain arrived right on cue.
However, the wet gear eventually came off and Graham Tocknell took the gross honours with 78.
The nett went to Pete Simpson (83-14=69) with Andy Western (87-15=72) in second, and Paul Tudor (89-16=73) in third place, ahead of several more on 74.
The Stan Gown Trophy, played to a Stableford format, was won by Andy Western (37), with Mike Vincent (35) and Steve Watson (34) making up the places.
An away fixture with Chippenham on their much-altered course, proved less than successful with all Dursley pairings losing apart from captain Andy Hara and Mike Vincent ,who won 4&2.
Other results: Andy Brown/Paul Tudor lost 2&1, Dave Lanfear/Pete Simpson lost 5&3, JohnTarr/Eric Wilkins lost 6&5, Barclay Smith/ Mike Cook lost 7&5.
