STROUD A clinched the Division One title after beating their nearest challengers Dursley A.

Keith Hinder of Dursley maintained his winning ways, overcoming Bill Alner by nine shots, but the other Stroud skips of John Heathcote and Dave Howes won by four and ten shots respectively to give them victory.

Dursley remain firmly ensconced in second place and their main challengers for this spot, Frampton-on-Severn A lost momentum when defeated at home by Cirencester A.

Only Dave Merrett for Frampton managed a win as Nigel Cansdale and Martin Risby were in impressive form for Cirencester to give them a nine-shot win overall.

Tetbury A were confirmed as winners of Division Two, although they had a hard struggle to overcome bottom of the table Cam Mills B.

Cam skips Ron Price and Rich Miles both won by a combined total of 14 shots but Cam were denied overall victory by the rink led by Pete Stinchcombe for Tetbury, who won by 26 shots to give Tetbury the victory.

Fairford A were confirmed as runners-up in the division with a comfortable win over Yate A.

With Cirencester B crowned Division Three winners, the real battle was for second place with Painswick and Yate B competing for the spot. Yate B were at home to Cirencester B and managed to pick up eight points from the game with winning rinks from Luke Stone and Maurice Hawkins.

This was sufficient to put them level on points with Painswick, who beat Malmesbury at home.

However, Painswick had a superior shot difference and took second place.

Fairford B are Division Four champions, while Dursley B confirmed their runners-up position with a win over Cirencester C.

Full results and tables will appear in the next edition of the Gazette newspaper on Thursday.
