Odd Down (Bath) 0 Slimbridge 3

SLIMBRIDGE'S encouraging start to the new season continued with a battling performance at Odd Down.

After surviving a high tempo start from the home side, the Swans nicked the lead just before half-time when Paul Fahy's cross was bundled home by Sean Lawson.

Within ten minutes of the restart, the visitors had doubled their lead. Adam Mace's corner was met by a superb near-post header from Ben Tunnicliff.

On 68 minutes, Mace was again involved in setting up the third goal – his mishit shot found its way to Richard Thwaite, who turned and drilled the ball in to extend the lead.

The Swans top the early table on goal difference from Brislington, who travel to Wisloe Road next Tuesday (7.30pm) for what is shaping up to be another intriguing encounter.

Thatcham Town are the visitors at Wisloe Road on Saturday (3pm) for an FA Cup extra preliminary round tie.
