Stroud Football League Division Two
Charfield 5 Abbeymead Reserves 0
CHARFIELD comfortably won their first home game of the season against Abbeymead Res.
The hosts took the lead in the first minute when an accurate corner from Liam Wood found the head of Paul Lyon to score with ease.
After 25 minutes Charfield extended their lead when Robbie Richards picked the ball up on the 18-yard box, dribbled towards goal and scored after a second attempt.
With Charfield taking control of the game, Nathan Vines was unlucky just before half-time when he had a shot that hit the bar after a good save from the goalkeeper.
Early in the second half a long through ball from Ian Lyon found Vines, who crossed for Wood to tap in.
Man of the match Vines scored his first goal after good work from Joel Stoneman, cutting into the box with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Charfield's final goal was a fou- man move involving Phil Miles, Stoneman, Vines and Zach McAllister, who scored with a simple tap-in.
