LIKE a lot of City fans I am getting the tingle of a promotion season.

Don’t burst my bubble by telling me we are only six games into the season. I have suffered six years of dire rubbish and like all City fans we are going to enjoy the moment. I actually think this could last and we may well be in for a very exciting time at the right end of the table.

Joe Bryan is really beginning to show his potential. He’s a star of the future. His control and runs down the left had Scunthorpe chasing shadows at times during the comfortable 2-0 home win last Saturday.

He will get better and better and with Greg Cunningham to replace him against a tiring defence, it really adds to the pressure for their opponents.

Cunningham finished off a move a Premiership team would have been proud of to put the game to bed but he can thank the departing Bryan for leaving his marker physically shattered.

I would be interested to hear the fans’ view of JET. I like him but just as he can win you the game, he is a bit extravagant and can give the ball away far too easily. There was no transfer talk around him this summer despite his excellent goal return.

Other managers clearly feel the same and while our previous boss O’Driscoll got the best out of him by letting him do what he wanted, Steve Cotterill requires him to play in a system and I can see he is hard to accommodate. That said, what a substitute to have on the bench.

I have had to change my view on Aden Flint. He is a revelation this season. He chipped in with the opening goal from a corner on Saturday and City had 17 of them so you might argue he could have had more.

If there is a weakness I still think we allow the opposition to get behind us a little too easily. This is partly because we are such an attacking side.

We are home again on Saturday to Doncaster, who are good on the road, so expect another close game, but there is no reason why City won’t extend this superb run and take it on to Port Vale in next week’s midweek game.
