BRISTOL Rovers boss Darrell Clarke is eyeing a move for Forest Green striker Lee Hughes.
The former Premier League striker is thought to be on Clarke’s radar along with Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs.
Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol: "They're both very good players and I'm interested in good strikers. Those two certainly fit the mould."
Hughes, who has scored six times in 13 appearances this season, has not started a match for Forest Green since October 7 and has been sidelined with a heavy cold.
However, Forest Green boss Ady Pennock is hoping the veteran striker will be fit enough to face Scunthorpe in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Pennock said: “Lee trained this week and finished a course of antibiotics on Sunday.
“It’s just been a case of getting rid of the rubbish on his chest because he was badly blocked up. Hopefully he’ll be available.”
