PEDAL ace Mike Davis has continued his good early season form by coming a creditable fourth in the Bristol South Open 25 mile Time Trial last weekend.
Davis, of Dursley Road Club, was one of two entrants from the club at the event on Saturday and went across the finish line in 57.35mins, averaging just over 25mph for the circuit.
He was just 12 seconds off the runner-up slot, taken by Paul Jones, of the NFTO Race team who clocked 57.13mins. But Davis, Jones and third-placed Ashley Martin, of Team Tor 2000/Kalas Sportswear, were far and away behind the runaway winner as Joshua Jones, of the University of Exeter CC, clocked 55.46mins.
Davis did, however, have the compensation of winning the Silver Shield for the fastest WTTA rider in the field.
Dursley RC’s Sam Evans also went in the event and came home in 46th place, clocking a time of one hour 8.35mins over the 25 miles.
