IT WAS certainly a case of home advantage being the key factor for teams at Cotswold Edge Golf Club who were all in action while enjoying the sunshine last week

The seniors kicked-off the action by winning 6–1 against Filton at home, although their return visit later in the week was less successful as the side went down to a 5-and-a-half to a solitary half point defeat.

The Ladies Alliance One came up against stiff competition at Minchinhampton Golf Club in what was their first match since winning promotion to Division One last season.

And although they battled hard, the Ladies lost on the day.

There was better news, though, from the Cotswold Edge Ladies Alliance Two team. They were at home against Naunton Downs and stormed to a comfortable victory by 11 points to three.

Meanwhile, the men’s section NGFL team travelled to Cleeve Cloud and again came up against stiff competition. Unfortunately, they were also on the losing side of the match which was again a five-and-a-half to half-a-point margin.

The B team celebrated success with a 5–1 win over Cleeve Cloud’s B team at home.

The Ladies Mail on Sunday team continued their previous success with a fourth round win in the competition, defeating Rodway Hill 4–1 at home. Now they wait for the draw for the next round and to discover who they will be facing as they progress further in the competition.

The Ladies Medal event saw a good entry with several scores under handicap. The winner was Pat Waring who carded a nett 68, while Judy Holpin was second with a nett 69 and Delia Allen took third with a nett 70.
