FORMER Gloucestershire Cricket head coach John Bracewell has been appointed as the new head coach of Ireland on a two-year contract.
Bracewell, who was highly-respected at Gloucestershire and took them to one-day success in the past, replaces Phil Simmons, who left to take up a similar role with West Indies.
Bracewell will be reunited with former Gloucestershire ace William Porterfield, who captained the country to a brilliant World Cup in Australia and New Zealand this year, including victory over the West Indies.
