FRAMPTON hosted Cam with a very young and enthusiastic team taking the field.

Winning the toss Frampton chose to bowl opening up with Matt Cayless and veteran Bob Murray. Adam Holloway was first to fall bowled Cayless for just six after Hall had found the boundary on several occasions. Michael Glover failed to trouble the scorer and with 11 overs gone Pete Hall (32) became Cayless’s third wicket in an excellent spell.

Connor Millin bowling in tandem with Zubair Saleh kept things tight with Millin claiming Ben Williams bowled and Tom Deakin, who was caught by Sam North leaving Cam on 63-5 after 20 overs.

Cam knew they had to knuckle down and Jake Dolbear was the man to steady the ship. Batting with confidence he took the score onto 98 before being left high and dry by his batting partner in a disastrous run out for 27 after an excellent stop and throw from Gareth Evans.

Alex Ballard needed to make up for his mistake and with the help of George Dolling took Cam’s score to a competitive score of 147 all out.

Frampton lost Sam North in the first over to Dolling and Saleh to Ben Holloway in the second. Martin Clements joining the team from the thirds was positive in his shot selection and together with Jason Huxstep they moved the score onto 34 before Huxstep was adjudged lbw for 12.

Dan Halsey had a rush of blood and was stumped by Dolbear with Nick Peacey following soon after for one. Ryan Western cleared up the tail with Cayless remaining on an unbeaten 18 with the total on a lowly 74 off 28 overs, leaving Frampton without a win this season.
