Rollo Trophy
Hillesley 290-8 lost to Kingswood Village 346-4

THE ROLLO Trophy match, played between Hillesley and Kingswood every year in memory of David Rollo, the one time landlord of The Fleece in Hillesley, has had a reputation for high scores.
This year was no exception with the aggregate of 636 at Sunday's match, being the highest known.
Batting first, Kingswood`s Kevin Morgan and Ben Foxwell put on 157 by the 21st over.
Then 18-year-old Joss Beeley struck a rapid 50. With help from Steve Barnes (18), Rory Thomas, cruelly run out for nine, and Guy Lendon (10no), Morgan powered on to his highest score of the season (157no) in the club`s highest ever score of 346-4.
Led by George Bailey, Hillesley challenged this massive total and, for a period, looked as though they might succeed.
When opener Joss Whitbread (29) and Tristram Moore fell in successive balls to Ben Fineman 87-2 off 15 overs was behind the 8.7 per over asking rate.
Numerous dropped catches and strong batting by Bailey, Simon Elcombe (63), and James Creighton (19) brought 160 off the next 19 overs.
Hillesley were in with more than a chance. Kingswood`s fielders, finding catching impossible, were very different with run outs.
Scoreboard pressure on Hillesley meant riskier running.
Elcombe, Creighton, Phil Frankland and Steve Haywood were all run out.
When Rory Thomas bowled Bailey for an excellent 103 the chase was pretty well over, though 13 year old Tom Cranwell, at no 10, played havoc with the non turning off spin of Kingswood veterans Steve Barnes and Rod Alexander in his rapid 21 not out.
Hillesley`s total of 290-8 was 56 short but testimony to a magnificent run-fest.

20/20 friendly. Rockhampton 151-4 beat Kingswood 129-9
HOSTING Kingswood at The Common in a 20/20 for the first time in many years, Rockhampton pulled off a comfortable win. Good knocks by Will Cullimore (25), M. Belvin (53no), Boucher (25) and M. Tyler (34) gave the home side a respectable but achievable 154-4.
Kevin Morgan (22) and Ben Foxwell (27) kept Kingswood in the hunt with 48 by the sixth over.
From then on, with six home bowlers sharing the wickets, the Kingswood innings stuttered. With only Steve Barnes (14) and Iain Green (22)  reaching double figures, they fell 22 runs short at 129-9.

Kingswood v Commoners
TWICE in the game, with each innings in its 80s, visitors Commoners could have beaten its Kingswood hosts, only to see the game slip away.
Batting first, Kingswood struggled with the right-arm-round line off cutters of James “Doc” Phillips, whose 4-21 quickly reduced them to 41-4.
Only Kevin Morgan (14) and Sean Bath (13) reached double figures. A wicket to Simon Crampton made it 72-5.
At 20 overs Kingswood were no more than 86-5 and in trouble.
A brisk 35 and 11 from 16-year-olds Henry Patteson and Callum Niddrie gave Kingswood a little hope but, at 130-8 off 30. not much, thanks to Ben Fearnley (3-18).
The game changer was 65 in nine overs for the ninth wicket between veteran Vince Taylor (24) and Andy Nash ( a debut 71no)  and a flurry from Andy in the last over to give the side a useful, but unexpected, 210-9.
Again Commoners seemed to have had the game in the bag. 30 from Tim Limburn, 25 from Crampton and 37 from Alfie Godden had them in the 80s  by the 12th over.
Again Kingswood were rescued by Taylor. His 5-16 left arm slows scythed through the Commoners.
Two wickets in two balls of Rory Thomas`s off spin saw the Commoners skittled out for 138, 72 runs short.
