Gloucestershire County League Division One
Corse and Staunton 206-7 beat Frampton-on-Severn 180-9 by 26 runs

MATT Cayless hit 46 but his knock plus others from Jason Huxstep and Nick Peacey were not enough to prevent a depleted Frampton on Severn from going down to Gloucestershire County League Division One defeat at Corse and Staunton.
Corse won the toss and decided to bat after a previous day of heavy rain.
Ed Goolden and Ben Morton opened up against the bowling of Dan Huxstep and Cayless.
The steady start sparked into life in the seventh over with 10 taken off it on the soggy outfield.
It took until the 19th over for the first wicket to fall when Goolden chipping one up to Sam North off the spin bowling of Liam Harper for 37.
Josh Steele came in to join Morton but the partnership was short lived with Morton holing out to Toby Burgess for a well-worked 42.
In form Tim Dannatt fell into the trap set by captain Cayless, caught at short mid-wicket off Barnfield in the 27th over with the score on 104-4.
Matt Cox and Shaun Turner set about posting a score with Turner taking the lead in a 42 run partnership before Cox was cleaned bowled by Huxstep.
With two more quick wickets the home team got to 206-7 with,Turner ending up on a well-deserved 50 not out.
Harper was the best of the Frampton bowling with two wickets for 34 runs off his nine overs of spin, while Huxstep was not far behind, taking two wickets for 37 runs.
It was a difficult total for Frampton to aim for but Sam North and Zubair Saleh made a good start against the bowling of Mike Gitting and Dan Organ.
But the innings collapsed as three early wickets went tumbling including the prized one of in-form Tom Warren who was clean bowled by Mike Gittings for just a single.
Jason and Dan Huxstep came together with the score on 34 and took it onto 50 before Dan chipped one up to Organ for just five.
Meanwhile, Jason was hitting the ball with power and precision, and, with Cayless, they took the score onto 90 before Jason got a cracker of a ball from Alex Morgan for an excellent 40.
Keeper Peacey had attack in mind and smashed the ball to all areas of the field.
From this, suddenly a win looked possible until Peacey was bowled by Goolden for a super 37 in a stand of 52.
Cayless did his best to finish off the innings smashing a six over the boundary ropes before being bowled for a top score of 46.
Harper and George Hart persevered their last wicket to claim an extra batting point with Frampton finishing on 180-9 with Goolden finishing on 3-28 from seven overs for Corse and his colleague Gittings getting 2-28 from his nine overs.
