IT may only be the start of the season but Sharpness and Berkeley Town are certain to treat Saturday’s Northern Senior League derby clash at Berkeley Power Station’s ground as a must win for a number of reasons.

Sharpness are likely to go onto the match as favourites not just because they are home but due to winning two of their three matches so far.

They have won twice in the Cup but went down 4-1 in their opening league encounter at Newent Town last Saturday.

Berkeley, meanwhile, will be hoping to turn their form which caused them to struggle for points last season, on its’ head after going down to FC Barometrics 3-0 at home last Saturday.

Dursley Town are another side which needs a victory to get away from the lower reaches of the league. They lost 4-1 to Ruardean Rangers last Saturday and now face another tough clash at The Rec when Avonvale United, who beat Ramblers 2-1 at home last Saturday, pay a visit.

Cam Bulldogs only went down 2-1 away at Brockworth Albion last Saturday and are on the road again this Saturday when they take on the team just above them in the table, Southside Star, looking to bounce back and get the vital first win of the season on the board.
