Charfield 115-3 beat Haresfield Gladiators 114 ao by seven wickets

CALLUM Niddrie took four wickets for 18 runs as Charfield won their Gloucestershire County League Division Five basement battle with Haresfield Gladiators seconds by seven wickets.
Haresfield Gladiators batted first and made 114 all out as Niddrie stormed through the innings.
He had number three Tim Holme, who made 24, caught by Joss Beeley and then, when Ben Smith was looking to up the anti wit 34 – Haresfield’s top scorer, Niddrie clean bowled him.
From there, Harefield’s resistance fell apart as nobody got beyond double figures, and had Charfield not conceded so many extras – 26 of them – the target would have been even lower.
Rory Thomas had a great two overs, taking two wickets for four runs, while Michael Colborn Jnr finished his nine overs with 1-15 as did Richard Bourns, while Charlie Walwin took one for 20. Beeley also picked up a wicket for seven runs.
The reply was something of a canter for Charfield as opener Shaun Bath hit 34 and Colbourn struck 33 to ease to 115-3.
* Charfield seconds came through a thrilling clash at Hardwicke to win their Stroud and District League Division Two clash by just four runs.
Charfield 218-7 then bowled out Hardwicke for 214.
