Stroud League Division Two
Tibberton United 5 Dursley Town Res 2

DEPLETED Dursley Town Reserves made mistakes and ultimately ran out of steam as they slipped to a heavy defeat on the opening day of the new Stroud League season at Tibberton.
Keith Watson’s ill-judged rush from his penalty area cost the home side the first goal and then poor marking from a free kick saw the lead doubled before the interval.
Town had looked good going forward, though, and Thiala Clark’s superb free kick got them back in contention, but a basic long ball led to a third Tibberton goal.
It was a case of Dursley having to chase the game in the heat of the afternoon from then on as they tried to claw their way back into the game.
But rather than getting goals at the Tibberton end, the visitors conceded two more on the counter-attack as the home side found gaps , although Adam Baker steered in a consolation goal two minutes from time to round off the afternoon for Town.
