SLIMBRIDGE have been left frustrated by the Football Association after they were told that they face another massive away trip if the win today’s FA Cup Preliminary Round tie at Egham Town.

The Swans, who are away again on Monday when they play Shortwood United in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West, have been told that they have to travel to the other side of London for their next tie.

And that means massive time on the coach to and from the game for players and fans.

A club statement said: “The FA have obviously decided that the Swans are a London club in the draw for this season's FA Cup.

“Should we win their tie on Saturday at Egham Town in Surrey (today), Slimbridge then face a trip to either Beckenham Town in Kent or Greenwich Borough, who play at a ground near the M25 Dartford Crossing, the opposite side of the M25 from where we would join it from the M4.

“So we potentially face either a 300 mile or 320 mile round trip. The game will take place on Saturday 12th September.”
