AT Round Eight of the Club 100 Lightweight Championship, Yate’s Dan Healey has continued his impressive form.

On his first ever sighting to Lydd Kart Circuit in Kent, Healey qualified second in the Pre-A Final.  1st and 2nd were bumper to bumper for much of the race with Healey finishing a very close second – only 0.300 behind the winner and a massive 8 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack.

His lap time in the Pre-A Final put him second for the main A-Final.  Healey dropped to third due to a slow start from the pole sitter but was soon  back up into second place chasing down the leader.  1st and 2nd ran off into the distance and it wasn’t long before Healey made the jump and took the lead.

Both 1st and 2nd were off into the distance finishing within 0.200 of one another and a huge 9 seconds ahead of third place.

This is Healey’s first time on the top of the step of the podium and his points haul at the weekend has now put him in the lead in the Championship by 10 points with three rounds remaining (6 races).  The next being one of his favourite circuits, Whilton Mill on 11th October.

16 of 22 rounds count so Healey needs to finish higher than 5th in the next round to increase his Championship points.
