THORNBURY A remain unbeaten and at the top of the Stroud and District Table Tennis League as they defeated Phoenix A 9-1, Anthony Kent and Julian Elsbury were unbeaten for the visitors.

Yate had a comfortable 8-2 victory at Cirencester with Andy Cox and Will Berkley returning maximums. Phoenix B defeated the visiting two man Forest Green A 6-4 although Dave Harvey went unbeaten for the Green. Woodchester B entertained Frampton A and thanks mainly to a Bob Murray hat trick the visitors went home with a 6-4 win.

In Division Two, Thornbury B and the visiting Randwick A shared the spoils in a five all draw from which Gavin Rogers came out on top with a max for the home team.

Phoenix D hold onto top spot in Division Three despite losing their first match of the season to the visiting Thornbury C for whom Viv Wilkie scored a maximum.

Meanwhile, in Division Four and despite losing 6-4 at Phoenix J, Cam B hold onto top spot in the division. Sam McIvor showed great determination and was unbeaten on the night for his Phoenix team as he recorded his second “man of the match” of the week.

Len Agg scored a max for Frampton D as they beat the visiting Forest Green D 7-3.
