FOREST Green Rovers have parted company with striker Aaron O'Connor on transfer deadline day.

The former Newport County man has joined League Two side Stevenage on a permanent deal after it was agreed to cancel the striker's contract by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old, who has been on loan at Broadhall Way since the middle of January, now exits The New Lawn permanently having originally joined the club in June 2015.

He has featured three times for Teddy Sheringham’s Stevenage since moving up a division on loan.

In his time with FGR he registered nine goals, which included a brace in a 4-0 victory against Barrow at the beginning of the season.

First team manager Ady Pennock said: “I’d like to thank Aaron for his time here at Forest Green and wish him well for the future.”
