FRAMPTON United will be looking at taking the runners-up spot in the Gloucestershire County League this season after their top-of-the-table 1-1 draw with leaders AEK Boco handed the title to the Bristolians.
However, it was a fairly uneventful first 45 minutes between the two teams with neither side creating much in the way of chances. It sprang into life when Frampton keeper James Marklove finger tipped Ben Menear’s header over the bar.
In the 50th minute Marklove brought of another great save to deny Menear pushing the ball away for a corner.
From the resulting corner Menear gained revenge when he volleyed home to put Boco one up. Boco’s Liam Jenkins had two great chances to increase the lead the first he drove over the bar and the second was well saved by Marklove.
Frampton gained a point from the game in the 78th minute when a thunderous shot from Kris Bulley hit the bar and Myron Turner was there to head home the rebound.
