TWENTY-eight Dursley athletes took part at parkruns across the country last weekend.

The majority were at Kingsway where Tim Ennis led the club for the second week in a row, achieving another personal best in the process.

The club had 14 runners in the top three of their categories with Dursley’s young talents Joe Ball, Thomas Smith, Luke Davis and Molly Wilcox also achieving PBs with Willcox the first Dursley woman home.

Sue Davies ran Kingsway for the first time, managing seventh in her category.

Annette Heylings, claimed first VW60, while, in the Forest of Dean, Carolyn Thraves ran well.

Forest of Dean: Carolyn Thraves, 115th, 26:39, (3rd SW30-34), (CB) Rebecca Fowler-Topham and Laura Price spent the day the second event in the Questars Adventure Racing Series, held around Pershore Worcestershire.

The two women enjoyed a great day of biking, running and kayaking. They achieved their best result to date, finishing in five hours 55:03mins accruing 615 points with no penalties to place third in the Ladies Masters category. Sunday saw the Great Bristol 10K and Tewkesbury Half Marathon, despite a cool breeze the sunny conditions made it too hot for many to run at their best.

Jon Tudor defied the conditions to run a massive PB of one hour 36.17mins at Tewkesbury, with Nigel Sankey leading Dursley home with Margaret Johnson placing third FV50.

At Bristol, Dave Halford, was first Dursley runner home, Sarah Bradbury first Dursley woman, Debbie Seal and Julie Fenn ran PBs with Hannah Butcher running her first 10K having graduated through Dursley’s Walk2Run 2016 Programme.
